Professional Hockey Players & Emerging Talent
Our Background
My wife Stephanie and I have been a hockey family for more than a decade. Our son began skating at a young age and developed through the Columbus Blue Jackets AAA Hockey program. Like many hockey parents, we understand firsthand the commitment the sport requires — early mornings, long drives, flights, hotels, equipment costs, training expenses, and the constant balancing act that comes with supporting a young athlete pursuing high-level hockey.
Our son was recently drafted into the USHL and will attend training camp this summer, giving our family even greater perspective into the opportunities, pressures, and financial realities that players and families face as hockey progresses from youth to junior, college, and professional levels.

How We Work
Helping Players Stay Focused
As players progress through hockey, they are often approached with business ideas, investment opportunities, lending requests, and financial recommendations from well-meaning friends, family members, or outside parties.
Even elite players need coaches because it's difficult to see everything from ice level. Financially, it's the same. Sometimes the biggest value is having someone objective who can identify risks, challenge assumptions, and help you see the bigger picture.
A good hockey coach studies film, identifies risks, makes adjustments, and helps players prepare for situations before they happen. Financial planning works the same way. The goal is to help players avoid preventable mistakes, recognize opportunities, and build a long-term game plan — not just react after problems occur.
One of the most valuable roles an advisor can play is simply serving as a filter. I often tell clients:
"If someone approaches you with an idea or opportunity, it is perfectly okay to say: 'I will have my advisor review it first.'"
That simple response creates healthy space between the player and the pressure to immediately say yes or no. Our role is not to control a player's decisions — it is to help provide organization, perspective, and thoughtful guidance so players and families can make informed decisions with confidence.
Independent. Fee-Only. Fiduciary.
Peerless Wealth is an independent, fee-only fiduciary advisory firm. We do not earn commissions for selling insurance products, investments, or financial products. Our guidance is designed entirely around the long-term interests of the player and family.
Beyond the Game
Building a Legacy Beyond the Ice
The best long-term plans create flexibility — not just financially, but personally. They allow athletes to support their families, pursue opportunities after hockey, and give back to causes that matter to them.
